Q. How did you start making crafts?
I started making cards because I was frustrated with the poor choices of mass produced cards. I got so bored of what they had to offer and nothing really stood out for my friends and family. I think it's really important to have something special for a greetings card, and so I started making my own.
Q. How long have you been doing crafts?
I started dabbling in card making about 3 years ago, but it was nothing serious - just foam shapes glued onto cards! I started to discover some really beautiful and fun supplies about a year and a half ago and my cards grew into something much better. Around February of this year I thought I'd really make a go of it and started selling on Etsy.
Q. What is your favorite medium to work with?
Q. What is your favorite medium to work with?
I'm a paper person! I'm a bit of fiend when it comes to pretty papers - if something catches my eye then I have to have it and turn it into a card. It means I've always got some ideas of what I want to make - papers are instant inspiration for me!
Q. Tell us a little bit about you, your family, your hobbies?
I'm 21 years old - turn 22 next month - and I currently live in Edinburgh, Scotland. I graduate next month with an MA in philosophy and English literature. I'm currently looking for a job to help pay for the Masters I'm doing after the summer in Creative Writing. But everyone knows that the job market isn't so hot right now so I've got to concentrate on my craft as much as possible - sometimes it literally does put the bread on the table! When I'm not making cards I'm usually writing some description of short story. I also like going to see my favourite bands live, I like really bad horror movies, all things kawaii, I have an obsession with Japan, Thomas Hardy, Hello Kitty and Miffy. I'm a fan of good comedy - Flight of the Conchords, Black Books etc. And I enjoy a good cup of hot tea with some chocolate biscuits; such a treat! And I suppose that's all there is to say!
